Dave's sis Lyndi had her baby girl this morning!!! Millie was born 6 lbs 14 oz and 19 inches long. She was born at 2:27 am. Lyndi sent me a text and said she has tons of black hair! We are so happy for their family and we can't wait to meet Millie Kate Dunlavy!!!! Congrats Pat & Lyndi!!!!!

Grandma Dotty's Bread!!!

Well for the past few months I have been getting all of my Grandma Dotty's homeade-from scratch recipes. She is the best cook ever!!! I wanted to get as many as I could so I can pass them down to Brook and have her recipes long after she is gone. I finally got her homeade bread recipe and I am going to make it today. The only kind of bread I have ever made is from a bread machine so I am a little nervous and I'm hoping it turns out! If any one has ever had my Granny's bread (Jillynne & Mom) you know how good it really is. My grandma's mom died when she was very young and I had always thought she got the recipe from her, but yesterday she told me that she got it out of a newspaper. It is the best bread in the entire world!!! She told me she isn't able to make it anymore because its too much work, so I hope I can pull it off and take her some when we go to visit!!! Wish me luck!!!

ShOuT oUt 2 ShEiLa!!!!

Shelia, my WONDERFUL cousin, my AMAZING hairdresser, and my ONLY living relative here in Vegas is an AMAZING beautician!!!! Sheila has been doing my hair for about 5 years now and I just love her and her work!!! A few months ago when she did my hair I promised I was going to write a blog about her amazing hair work but I just got too busy and totally forgot! Well, this last Saturday she did my hair and I must say she out-did her self once again! I always tell her what kind of look I want to go for and its as if she reads my mind and does it exactly how I imagined! I swear she has magic fingers! She does great cuts and does a PERFECT JOB everytime!!! Sheila works at RAIN off of Decatur and the 2-15 so if anyone is ever in Vegas and wants a terrific do, give Sheila a ringy!!!
THANKS again Sheila!!!! And thanks for putting up with my thick, dry, un-managable hair for all these years!!! xoxoxo!!!! I'm not one to snap photos of myself, but I uploaded some pics from my cell of my new do!

Christmas in Parowan...

So this year for Christmas we headed up to good ol Parowan, Utah. We wanted to have a "white christmas" and boy did we ever! It snowed on Christmas Eve and all day on Christmas! There was actually a very bad blizzard on Christmas night and it was a little scary! We thought we were going to be snowed in!!! Santa found us in Parowan and Brooklyn got some pretty neat things! She got the fur-real pet, "Biscut" who speaks and obeys to many different commands. She didn't know if Santa would bring him or not so she was super exited when she opened it! She also got the my little pet shop tail-waggin' fit club and the my little pet shop digital planner. She got Wii- Sing it & a choo-choo train and lots of clothes and jewlery!
We went to Grandma Dotty's house in Cedar on Christmas day for dinner and got to see lots of family and had some yummy food and pie!!! There's nothing like Grandma Dotty's cooking!!! We had a great christmas and it all went by way to fast!!! Here are a few pics from my cell phone ( I forgot to pack my cam!!!) I was so sad about it the whole time....

Thanks everyone for your comments about Dave. He is doing a little better today. He has been seeing lots of doctors and cardiologist and getting ALOT of test done. He has been diagnosed with SVT and may have some other issues with his heart and lungs so hopefully we can get it all figured out. He took the week off work to get the test done and get some much needed rest.
Our christmas is going to be a little quiet this year. We don't have Taylor so its just going to be the 3 of us! We are heading up to the Bean house is Parowan and spending Christmas there. No one is using the house and we have always wanted Brook to be able to experience a "white christmas" so thats where we are headed! Hopefully Santa can find us there!!! We hope you all have a WONDERFUL christmas and see you all next year!!!!

2nd Worst Day....

Yesterday was the 2nd worse day of my life..(And the worst one for Dave)I am in a hurry and very tired but Dave was in the hospital all day yesterday and I thought he was going to die! Yesterday while at work he was having trouble breathing and then blacked out. Then his heart started racing like 1000 beats a minute and he couldn't breath. So one of his guys took him to the hospital in Henderson and they thought he was having a HEART ATTACK!!!!!!! After many test and long hours of waiting they told us that a test had come back postive for a BLOOD CLOT IN HIS LUNG!!! But then after a cat scan the dr's told us that it was clear and no blood clot. They think he had a small heart attack, and he is only 31!!!!
It was so horrible and I was already having panic attacks from all of this happening with Dave and then they brought in a guy who had been in a horrible accident (in our same "curtain") and I was having major flashbacks and needless to say I was having trouble breathing myself. I thought Dave was going to DIE!!!! Dave said he had a near death experience and he is acting a little different:) I kept telling Dave I wanted to call my friend Amanda in our ward, and have her husband and some other men from our ward come and give him a blessing, but he just kept telling me to wait. So I was saying prayers all day long and thankfully they were answered!!!! He also had been diagnosed with a heart problem which is a very long word, so its a very scary thing. His family has alot of history with heart problems. My sis in law Lyndi (hi Lyndi!) has a pace maker and she is my age. And my mother in law has a pace maker as well. I hope nothing like this ever happens to Dave again! I am very happy to report that my hubby is still here with us:):):) This goes down as the 2nd worse day EVER!!!!! I am so thankful that Dave is ALIVE and will be here for christmas hehehe:):):)

PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes its true folks. Someone here is PREGERS!!!! Someone has been doing the good ol hanky panky, the kissy kissy huggy huggy. Call it what you will, its has happened!!!

But don't fall off your chairs people, its not me, its my dog! Anni is pregers AGAIN!!! This is not good news to us though. We didn't want to have another batch of puppies, especially so close to her last litter. After this litter, someone is getting fixed!!! We arn't too happy about this, but maybe as time goes by we will just have to accept what is. Looks like she is due sometime in Feb. The pups should be ready to go just in time for Easter. Pup anyone?????

ChRiStMaS cOOkiEs!!!!

So I promised my primary kids I would bring them some of my famous sugar cookies for their christmas gift and I have been baking all day! Its alot of work and I am no where near done, but thought I would post some pics of my cute decorating! I made homeade icing for the surface and then I found some very cute glitter frosting in tubes at Michael's, so I am using that for the ornaments, tinsel, ect. I think they are turning out to be pretty cute if I do say so myself, not to mention they are very soft and moist and almost melt in your mouth! (thanks sissy for you secret recipe!)

It'S sNoWiNg!!!

Well, it doesn't happen to often here in the desert, so when it does we have to talk about it...Yes, its SnOwInG in Las Vegas! It started about 7am and its not 10 and its still coming down! It's a BliZzArD out there! I snapped a couple of pics...it just barely started sticking to the ground. Too Bad Brook is at school and she can't play in it:( Take a lookie...

So I have not posted any of our fun thanksgiving pics yet,(been a little busy) but why I have a spare moment I thought I would post something small and funny. While at my moms house for turkey day, I thought it would be a great idea to get some pics of all of us kids (the only one missing is my older brother Chris who couldn't make it) I hadn't seen my brother Tyler in over 2 years so I felt we needed to snap some pics. We took several shots and it was quite hilarious. I think maybe one turned out...take a lookie....The first pic looks like I'm doing something to my brother that I shouldn't be doing...lol!!!!

FuDgE 2 DiE 4!!!!!

My mom got this recipe from her friend Jill Miles in Monroe, Utah. I made this last winter for the FiRsT time and it was so YuMmY! I think Dave and I ate the entire batch ourselves within a day or so!!! I think it is the best fudge I have ever tried, and it is SO SO eAsY!!!!

I think the bEsT part about this FuDgE is the mArShMellOwS!! It makes it so soft! I will definitely be making some to take to Colorado for TuRkEY dAY, and of course on ChRiStMaS too!!! This is a gReAt holiday tReAt!!!!

ps. we don't like nuts, so we leave them out and its still y-u-m-o!

ROCKY ROAD FUDGE

2 large Hershey bars

4 cups sugar

½ lb butter

1-1/2 cups evaporated milk

1 pkg small marshmallows

2 cups chopped nuts (optional)

Freeze ½ pkg marshmallows for 1-2 hours. Chop butter and chocolate into pieces in large bowl, set aside. Put sugar, milk and rest of marshmallows in pan. Bring to boil. Boil rapidly 5-1/2 to 6 minutes. Stir constantly. Pour mixture into butter and chocolate and beat until mixture blends and thickens (4-5 minutes). Add nuts. Pour over frozen marshmallows in buttered dripper pan (large cookie sheet.) Put in Fridge for an hour or so to set up. Keep refrigerated. You can also freeze the fudge for a later date! EnJoY!!!

tHaNkFuL tHuRsDaY...(a dAy lAtE)/sHoUt OuT 2 Big D!!!!

Well, I normally don't PaRtIcIpAtE in thankful thursday, but since we are in November and thanksgiving is right around the corner, I felt InSpIrEd to do so, hehe jk. But I am thankful for something today, and everyday, and that would be my hubby, my big D, my Dave!!! I just have to say that I am very, very, very, very thankful for him today and everyday!!!! I am glad that I met him on that very depressing night in my life along time ago! I knew when I opened the door and saw him that I would never be alone again.(cheesy I know) I AlwAyS tell Dave that I wished he would have met me before John died, but I guess thats impossible, things worked out the way they were supposed to. But I wish he could have met me for just a few minutes to see how I used to be. I feel like who I was before is gone forever and it makes me sad. I was always so happy and always sMiLiNg but I think when someone dies so close to you it takes a BiG chunk of you and its gone forever. I'm not saying that I'm not happy, I just think death changes someone forever. But back to the topic, I am GrAteFul for my hubby and I'm thankful that he puts up with me everyday. As my SiSSy in St. GeOrGe would say, "He'S a GooD mAn"!!!!! Love ya Big D!!!

My Big D! This was taken the day after Thanksgiving Day last year. This is the 4th pic in my file, because this is the 4th pic I took with my new cam, which I bought that morning (biggest shopping day of the year!) I got a great deal on it at walmart at 4am with my sissy. Think we even caught up with Jackie later that morn at Target! That was the very first time (believe it or not) that I have ever been shopping on the day after t-day for the early morn sales. I usually just go later in the day or a few days later to avoid the hustle. It was alot of fun and I hope we can do it again this year Casey! Back to the pic, this was taken at my Aunt Sue's house in St.George. Just Dave. Just testing out the new cam. bReAkInG aLL tHe RuLeS, oR jUsT pLaiN nuTTs???

So Brook has been HoUnDiNg me these past few days about putting up the christmas dEcOs! I was like no way at first, and after hours of listening to her whine and pull at my legs, I gave in and said fine, but only a FeW things! Well, one thing led to another, and lets just say we have gotten out more than a FeW things! I am not going to put up my outside stuff or lights for a few more weeks ( i hope). Well, I was talking to my mom today and she basically told me I was nUttS and that its not even thanksgiving yet! I said to her, "I don't care! Are there any rules to when you can or cannot put your decos up? Well if there is, I am BrEaKiNg all the rules! And frankly I don't care." Which leads to my next queston. As I was putting up some lights (indoor lights, thank you) I was listening to some christmas tunes and I was standing on my counter tops, I looked down at Kys, the little cutie that I tend, and he was looking right up at me and I swear he was thinking, what in the heck are you doing lady!!! Then I thought to myself, heck maybe I am just cRaZy!! So what do you think, Is it WAY to early, and am I breaking all the rules, or am I just a certifiable NUT JOB????
